The
Wave House: San Diego’s Hottest Beach Party

Like many of us that are stuck at work this summer, I am sure
you’ve spent countless hours day dreaming of taking a
vacation to somewhere tropical where you could just let lose.
Cancun or Cabo would be nice. And like many of us who are living
paycheck to paycheck, this day dream is quickly shot down by
reality, and the lack of funds to get away to such a destination.
Well, do not fret. Living in San Diego is a privilege enough,
and with the help of the newest tropical bar, The Wave House,
taking a little trip away from reality is possible.
The Wave House, located on the ocean front walk in Mission Beach,
feels just like a tropical get away without the buyer’s
remorse of airfare. The designated bar area (The White Sand
Village) is a completely outdoor venue with a magnificent view
of the ocean. Topped with tropical palm trees, open air fire
pits, barbecues and a stocked tiki bar, the atmosphere completely
takes you away.
The bar is only open Saturday-Sunday, noon until Sunset. The
White Sand usually offers great vodka drink specials, and a
DJ is always on hang spinning dance and hip hop hits. The wave
house is essentially an amazing beach party. As you can imagine,
a dress code is not enforced. Most party-goers are scantily
clad in barely there bathing suits and flip flops.
Though you can’t bring your board inside, surfers are
definitely welcomed! In fact, if you caught a killer wave that
day and happened to break your board, the Wave House will compensate
your loss with free food, no joke! Bring your broken board to
the BBQ and receive free grind, on the house.
If a few adult beverages aren’t your cup of tea, the actual
Wave House venue has more to offer than just an amazing bar
scene. It includes a variety of attractions that span all throughout
Belmont Park and includes restaurants, a fitness club, and is
even fully equipped with a Flow Rider mechanical wave! If you
live in San Diego and have been dying to learn how to surf,
the Flow Rider may be the answer to your prayers! The mechanical
wave is for everyone regardless of skill level, and actually
allows you to enjoy the exhilaration and thrill of catching
a wave.
The Wave House is a breath of fresh air for the Southern California
Bar scene. It is the hottest way to stay cool when the summer
sun has got you beat. The White Sand Village Bar is only open
in the summer months, so slap on some sun screen and strike
while the iron is hot!
