The 2005 Adams Avenue Street Fair will take place Saturday September
24th (running from 10am- 9pm) and Sunday September 25th (10am-
6pm). Located in the Normal Heights community of San Diego,
it has become one of Southern California’s Largest Music
Festivals. The street fair is free as well as an event open
to all ages.
Spread over an eight block area, spectators will enjoy a plethora
of music including salsa, country, blues, jazz, and roots rock
reggae! Some of the big name performers include Nortec Collective,
The Bell-Rays, the Hacienda Brothers, Transfer and much More!
Also performing is “The Coyote Problem” who just
won an Award at the San Diego Music Awards for Best American
Album, as well as Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra who
won an award for the best hip-hop artist for 2005. The Adams
Avenue Street Fair showcases over 70 musical acts on six different
stages that are sure to please just about every listener. For
a specific schedule of musical performances for this year, please

The fair also includes 3 beer gardens spread throughout the
fair, as well as over 400 food, arts and craft vendors. For
the kids carnival rides are also scattered throughout the event.
Going strong in its 24th consecutive year, the Fair is guaranteed
to bring the crowd and excitement as years before. Last year
spectators came out in the thousands, from local neighborhoods
to further communities in the San Diego region.
Because of the large turn out be aware that parking in the area
is scarce. The stretch of Adams Avenue from Bancroft Street
to 35th Street will be closed, and all streets that intersect
Adams Avenue through that stretch will be dead ends at Adams
Avenue. A recommendation is to get there early, and drive along
the side streets to look for a spot. There aren't any designated
lots for parking, but residents may offer their driveways and
even their yards for parking for a fee.
For further information, please call the Adams Avenue Street
Fair office at (619) 282-7329.
