Rock 'n' Roll: Coca-Cola Zero Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
For the last eight years, San Diego has hosted the Rock 'n'
Roll Marathon, where about 20,000 runners and walkers participate.
This year's event will take place on Sunday, June 5th. The all-day
event begins bright and early with the racers ready to begin
at 6:30 a.m. It starts on the out skirts of Balboa Park, winds
around downtown's Petco Park, Gaslamp Quarter and Harbor Drive
before heading north and then west toward Mission Bay, and eventually
ending in Point Loma.
For those of you who already know, this isn't you're ordinary
marathon... this is a race featuring more than 40 bands including
Bayou Brothers, Vegetation, Wonka Bar, The Fijis, Left4Dead,
Grandview and a few local DJs. To top the night off, head on
down to the Coors Coors Amphitheatre where a post-race concert
will be held. Pinback will take the stage at 8 p.m. but gates
will open at 5:30 p.m. with the opening act performing at 6:30
p.m. The concert is open to the general public. All race participants
and volunteers receive complimentary entry to the concert. If
